Welcome to Arts Education! This website is designed to give eager learners an introduction to the diverse world of the arts. Its designed with the "Saskatchewan Art Education: Grade 9" Curriculum's 3 Main Aims & Goals as its guide:
1: Cultural/Historical (CH) - Students will investigate the content and aesthetics of the arts within cultural, historical, and contemporary contexts and understand the connection between the arts and the human experience.
2. Critical/Responsive (CR) - Students will respond to artistic expressions of Saskatchewan, Canadian, and International artists using critical thinking, research, creativity, and collaborative inquiry.
3. Creative/Productive (CP) - Students will inquire, create, and communicate through dance, drama, music, and visual art.
It seeks to provide you firstly, with the foundations upon which the knowledge of Art is derived. Secondly, building from there, it illustrates important questions and encourages critical thinking about Art and how it relates to the world around you. Questions like: Where did art come from? How should I think about art? Why is it important? And, how can I bring it into my life? And finally, it brings to light, the uses of Multimedia in the 21st Century and how the use of it can make the world of art more accessible to you.
